Michael Mahoney’s professional life has always been centered around the game of tennis. Beginning his career with Tennis Corporation of America (TCA) in 1978 as a coach at Midtown Athletic Club in Rochester, New York, Mahoney was named assistant head pro at Midtown in 1983. Two years later, he was promoted to head tennis professional at Tri-State Athletic Club in Evansville, Indiana (also a TCA club). nIn 1988, Mahoney returned to Rochester as director of tennis for Midtown's Rochester and Syracuse, New York clubs.nIn January of 1990, he was promoted to general manager of TCA's flagship facility, Midtown Tennis Club®, in Chicago. In addition to that position, Mahoney was promoted to regional general manager in January of 1994 and to regional vice president in January of 1998. In August of 1999, Mahoney was named national tennis director for TCA.nNamed Senior Vice President in November of 2010, Mahoney lead tennis operations for nine Midtown Athletic Clubs in the U.S. and Canada until February of 2014, while retaining his current role as general manager at the company’s flagship location, Midtown Athletic Club in Chicago. nMahoney's tennis teaching experience includes two years at the Port Washington Tennis Academy in Long Island, New York, which is renowned for developing outstanding junior players. n A past president of the Chicago District Tennis Association, the Chicago arm of the United States Tennis Association, Mahoney is certified by both the Professional Tennis Registry and Unites States Professional Tennis Association and is a graduate of the University of Rochester. Mahoney and his wife, Bridget, and their three children, Mike, Jack and Keely, live in Riverside, Illinois.
